OUTSTANDIG STAFF FROM HUNGARY

DUSÁN HÉGLI is a highly energetic, popular and dynamic professional dancer. He started dancing with a children's dance group in 1982. In 1986 he joined the SZOTTES ENSEMBLE, a leading Hungarian folk dance group based in Pozsony (Bratislava), Slovakia. Since 1992 he has been the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the group. His knowledge extends to all the Hungarian dance dialects, but he specializes in those of the Felvidék (Highlands) Transylvania. Dusán has appeared on several Hungarian and Slovakian television programs. He has taught and performed in many different camps, dance seminars, dance houses and festivals throughout Slovakia, Hungary, in Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Venezuela.

His dance partner at the 2002 Symposium is ANIKÓ LÉPES, also a dancer and dance instructor in the SZOTTES ENSEMBLE.

TÜKRÖS FOLK MUSIC BAND was formed in Budapest in 1986 and has toured throughout Europe both on its own, as well as together with various dance ensembles. Most members of the group have also performed throughout the world with other musical and dance groups. They regularly play in Hungary at major traditional music festivals and events, at Táncház-es, music clubs, parties and even weddings . Each year TÜKRÖS organizes a dance and music camp where members of the group teach the musical traditions they know to the next generation. TÜKRÖS is also deeply involved and dedicated to collecting and recording Hungarian folk music in the villages of Hungary and neighboring countries where Hungarians live. TÜKRÖS has released a number of CD-s, the first one in 1996. Their performing and teaching experience make them highly qualified and a certain asset to this year's Symposium.
