Lipták Béla levele Laborc Sándor NATO-tisztsége ellen (2008)

A Magyar Lobbi 2008. február 8-i körlevele angol nyelvű levélakciót indított Laborc Sándor NATO-szerepe ellen.

Dear Ambassador Nuland,

I am sure you know that the new chief of the Hungarian secret services, Sándor Laborc, who spent six years at the K.G.B. academy in Moscow during the 1980s, became the chairman of NATO’s intelligence committee.

You might not know that after the Socialists returned to government in 2002—and before Ferenc Gyurcsány, a former Communist youth leader, later became Hungary’s prime minister—Hungarian officials who had served for more than a year in Moscow could not, for security reasons, be appointed to positions higher than department head. The same principle should hold true for NATO, because it is not likely that the attitudes and loyalties of a person trained by the K.G.B. have changed sufficiently for him to be trusted to handle NATO secrets properly.

For this reason, I respectfully ask that you question this appointment and take steps to replace Mr. Sándor Laborc.

Sincerely,
Béla Lipták
