The National Széchényi Library is the national library of Hungary. Our objective is to collect, to process, to preserve and to provide access to the Hungarian written cultural heritage and the written cultural heritage related to the Hungarian history from the manuscript codex through the printed documents to the electronic publications. We hope it is not immodesty on our part if we call National Széchényi Library the memory of the nation and as being that it is the common heritage of all Hungarian – living in Hungary and outside the borders – and at the same time it is an integral part of the European and global culture, which makes it more colourful and rich.
