MIDI Archive: Hungarian Folk & Children’s Music

Hungarian folk dance music and songs, arranged as MIDI files by Robert Szlizs (Galánta, 1999), with contributions from Joseph Fábián (Budapest) and Dave Clarke, plus a sister collection by Krisztián Pálmai (Drégelypalánk) — the two met at the Nagyvázsony MIDI Contest, organized by Árpád Győrffy in March 1999. Robert’s “Verbunk” (Bonchida) took 3rd place at that competition.

MIDI files contain playback instructions, not recorded audio — most modern browsers no longer play them inline without a plugin, but they remain small, useful source files for anyone who wants to play or arrange the tunes themselves. Each entry below shows its original duration, file size, and arranger/year credit (szr = Robert Szlizs, fj = Joseph Fábián, dc = Dave Clarke, pk = Krisztián Pálmai).
