I am searching for details on construction of a cymbalom in the Hungarian style. I have heard the music from cymbaloms and also from the hammer dulcimer. There are those who say they are the same. Not so! I want to make the cymbalom and get the mellow rich tone of the traditional instrument. The hammer dulcimer is too harsh.
Is there any literature available to give me guidance to make a fine cymbalom?
