1 pound butter
1 Cup sugar
2 Cups flour
6 Eggs (separated)
Juice of one lemon
1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1/2 lb. Ground Walnuts
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 teaspoons salt
Cream butter, then add the sugar, lemon juice and egg yolks. Sift flour,
bakingpowder and salt. Add to creamed mixtureand beat for 3 minutes. Slowly
fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, then pourbatter into greased 9 x 13 pan.
Spreadwith walnuts mixed with ½ cup sugar. Bake 15-20 minutes in 375 degree
oven. Cut into half moons while still warm. (you can use a drinking glass or
special form for this process)

2 cups sugar
1/2 pound butter (part oleo is ok)
9 eggs, separated
2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
Ground walnuts
1 teasp. Vanilla
Cream butter and sugar until very light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and beat
in. Fold in flour and baking powder. Add lemon rind and vanilla. Beat egg
whites until stiff and foldin. Bake in a greased and floured pan(11 x 16 x
2 inches). Sprinkle ground walnuts on top of batter. Bake at 350degrees
for 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into half moons with a glass, sprinkle with
powdered sugar.
