Background:
After the Hungarian Revolution, Ilonka Toth a 22 year old medical
doctor, was hanged. The charge against Ilonka Toth was, that she
killed an AVH officer by injecting gasoline into his artery. The body
was never found, the medical proof was ever offeed, that this ever
took place. In 1992, Jozsef Lukacs, the #9 defendant of the Toth case
asked dr. Frigyes Kahler of the Justice Ministery to drop the
charges, but nothing happened. In 1996, the case reached the Chief
Persecutor, but still no action was taken to investigate this case and to
clear the name of Ilonka Toth.
What to do:
Please write a letter to the Minister of Justice and ask him to
interfere in favour of Ilonka Toth=B4s rehabilitation. Feel free to use
the attached letter. The first letter is written in English, the
second in Hungarian. They are identical in contents.

Dear Mr. Minister,
after the Hungarian Revolution 1956, Ilonka Toth a 22 year old medical
doctor, was hanged. The charge against Ilonka Toth was, that she
killed an AVH officer by injecting gasoline into his artery.
The body was never found, the name of the officer was never given and
no medical proof was ever offeed, that this ever took place.
Apparently the trial against Ilonka Toth aimed rather to intimidate
the population of Hungary than to find the truth.
On initiative of Jozsef Lukacs (#9 defendant of the Toth case) the
Hungarian judiciary began to deal with the case in 1992. Four years
later the case reached the Chief Persecutor (Legfobb Ugyesz), but
still no action was taken to investigate this case and to clear the
name of Ilonka Toth.
I respectfully ask you, Mr. Minister, to interfere in favour
of Ilonka Toth=B4s rehabilitation. Thereby you would not only improve
the reputation of the Hungarian judiciary, but also contribute to the
clarification of the role of the totalitarian regime in Hungary after
the Soviet aggression in November 1956.

Tisztelt Miniszter Ur,
az 1956-os Forradalom utan Toth Ilonka orvosnot egy kirakatperben
halalra iteltek es felakasztottak. Allitolag egy AVH tiszt halalat
szandekosan okozta azzal, hogy ereibe benzint adott inekcioval.
Az AVH tiszt holttestet nem talaltak meg, a neve sem hangzott el a
targyalas alatt. Sot az ugyesznek meg azt sem sikerult bebizonyitani,
hogy ez a halaleset egyaltalan megtortent. Toth Ilonkat megis halalra
iteltek. Ez egy olyan rendszerben tortent, amelynek a szandeka a
lakossag megfelemlitese es nem az igazsag felderitese volt.
Lukacs Jozsef – a Toth-Ilonka-per egy masik vadlottja – 1992-ben az
Igazsagugyi Miniszteriumnal kezdemenyezte Toth Ilonka
rehabilitalasat. Az iden az ugy vegre a Legfobb Ugyesz ele kerult, de
eddig megsem tettek semmit a Toth-Ilonka-per felulvizsgalatahoz.
Kerem Minister Urat, jarjon kozbe Toth Ilonka rehabilitaciojahoz.
Ezzel nem csupan a magyar igazsagugy hirenek kedvezne, hanem
hozzajarulna a Forradalom utani Kadar-kormany szerepenek a
tisztazasahoz.
