Veszélyben a Dráva Õrtilos és Barcs közötti szakasza, mely Európában ma már ay egyetlen, még "szabad-folyású" folyó-szakasza!

A világ környezetvédõi tiltakoznak a természeti katasztrófával fenyegetõ Novo Virjei vizierõmû ellen, mely Bõs (Gabcikovo) mintájára a szomszéd ország (Horvát ország) felség-területén épülne meg és alvizcsatornájával elterelné ezt a határfolyónkat is.

A Riói Szerzõdéssel ellenkezõ terv megsemmisitené a Földön egyedül itt élõ drávai kérészt is és a kavicszátonyok elöntése révén megszünne a kis csér élettere is.

I would like to learn about your plans concerning the Novo Virje hydroelectric power plant on the Drava.

Is it true that Croatia is planning to build that facility without the approval of the UN or of Hungary? Is it true that the Novo Virje dam would destroy Europe's last free flowing river section and its unique wild life? Is it true that the building of the dam would be financed from the taxes of the Croatian people? Is it true that by damming the Drava and building the canal on Croatian territory you are rerouting this border river? Is it true that by building the Novo Virje dam, Croatia would violate a number of international agreements she has signed.

1. the project is financed by the croatian side, it's the project of the croatian energy monopol – HEP. The hungarian government claimed that oppose this project because the hungarian area of Drava is legaly protected.

Croatian government signed huge part of international agreements: CONVENTION ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY; CONVENTION ON WETLANDS OF INTERNATIONAL IMPORTANCE ESPECIALLY AS WATERFOWL HABITAT; CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA AND FLORA; CONVENTION ON THE CONSERVATION OF MIGRATORY SPECIES OF WILD ANIMALS; CONVENTION ON THE CONSERVATION OF EUROPEAN WILDLIFE AND NATURAL HABITATS (full list of environmental international agreements signed by Croatia you can reach at: new Act on Saving Nature was adopted. RE: Hungarian-American Lobby

Dear Mr. President,

The Hungarian Lobby expresses the views and concerns of the 1.54 million Hungarian-Americans. Our main concern is the future of the 3 million Hungarians who are living in Hungary's neighboring states, since the Treaty of Trianon (which the United States has refused to sign in 1920) dismembered Hungary.

These 3 million Hungarians have not left their towns and villages. Yet they became foreigners in their own hometowns, because the borders been redrawn around them. Justice and European stability would both be served, if their rights to self-determination and autonomy were finally recognized .

In 2004, many of the 1.4 million Hungarian-Americans will support the presidential candidate, who speaks up for the collective human rights and autonomy of these 3 million disenfranchised people.

Dear Mr. President, the Hungarian Lobby would be grateful, if we could learn your position on this issue.

Alulírott, a Hazától távol élo, valamint a mai határokon belül, és kívül élo magyarok, teljes meggyozodéssel támogatjuk a VMDP kezdeményezését, a Szerbiában élo magyarok kettos állampolgárságára irányuló törekvéseit.

Felhívjuk a figyelmet arra, hogy az EU 15 tagországa közül 11 lehetové teszi a kettos állampolgárságot az országaikon kívül élo nemzettársaiknak.

Reméljük, hogy a Magyar Kormány, és a Parlament nem fogja kihagyni ezt a történelmi lehetoséget, és nem utasítja el a magyarság jogos kérését.

RE:  "Szekler National Council"

Dear Mr. President,

Recently, representatives of approximately 700,000 Szeklers living in a coherent group in Romania formed the "Szekler National Council". The goal of the Szekler National Council (SzNC) is the formation of an autonomous Szeklerland within the borders of Romania.

Currently, the members of this council are being harassed by the Romanian government. On October 9, 2003 the Romanian police arrested and questioned for several hours Mr. Imre Fodor, Mr. Árpád Andrássy, Mr. Lajos Márton and Mr. András Tõkés.

The Szeklers are the Transylvanian branch of the Magyar people; their dialect of Hungarian, is written in its own runic alphabet. The Szeklers had autonomy for approximately one thousand years; autonomy, that was granted to them by the Hungarian kings. This autonomy was lost after WW1 when the Szekler lands were given to Romania.

We hope that the autonomy in the Szeklerland can be established on the model of South-Tirol, the Basque-land, Catalonia or the Swedish people in Finland.

Dear Mr. President, in addition to the Szeklers, some 1.54 million American-Hungarians are also hoping that you will order an investigation of these harassments and will speak up for the human rights of the Szekler people in Romania.

Dear Bishop Bozanic,

With an ax, the parish priest of Darazs, Josip Kuzmic destroyed the furnishings of the small Hungarian Catholic church of that village.

It is sad enough, when we hear about the religious intolerance among people of different religions, but to see ethnic hatred within the Catholic Church is unpecedented. And for a priest to use a hatchet to scare the parishioners of an ethnic minority into giving up their language and heritage is beyond words.

Dear Bishop Bosanic, I ask you to stand up for both principles of our Catholic Church and for the millennium old friendship anong our peoples by setting a precedent by not only reassuring the frightened Hungarian minority of Darazs, but also by removing Josip Kuzmic and restoring the furnishings of that small church.

Tisztelt Miniszterelnök Úr!

Kérjük, hogy utasitsa Persányi miniszter urat, hogy a Duna visszaterelését és Bõs mûködtetését egyaránt szolgáló Kiegyezési Tervre alapozva, azonnal kezdeményezze a Duna-per második körtét a Hágai Biróságnál.

A Greenpeace, WWF, IRN szakértõi segitségével kidolgozott és a Parshall csatornára alapozott Kiegyezési Terv lényege, hogy egyrészt felszámolja a dunacsúnyi mederzárat, s ezzel visszatereli a Dunát a természetes medrébe, másrészt teszi ezt úgy, hogy Bõs tovább mûködhet. A tervet az amerikai sajtó is ismertette. Az ismertetõ cikk olvasható a következõ cimen:

A világ környezetvédõi azért támogatják e tervet, mert a mederzár felnyitása révén megmenekülnének a Pannon Tenger néhai deltájában, a Szigetközben, az elmúlt 8,000 év folyamán sósvizübõl édesivûvé alakult és ezért a világon egyedülálló élõlények.

1997-ben a Hágai Biróság úgy döntött, hogy a Duna dolgában mindkét fél hibás volt, mert ugyan törvénytelen volt a Duna elterelése, de a szerzõdés felmondása is és ezért felkérte a feleket, hogy közvetlen tárgyalásokkal igyekezzenek megegyezni, ami ha nem sikerülne, úgy térjenek vissza Hágába, s kéjék a biróság döntését. A Magyar Alkotmánybiróság idén októberben elfogadta a 988j/2000-sorszámú pert, mely az elsõ hágai döntésre és a több éves eredménytelen tárgyalásra hivatkozva követeli, hogy az AB utasitsa a magyar kormányt a második hágai kör kezdeményezésére.

Amikor az elmult hetekben a Magyar Képviselõház Külügyi Bizottságának vezetõi New Yorkban jártak, az USA "Environmental Engineers Handbook"-jának szerkesztõje megkérdezte õket, hogy támogatják-e a Kiegyezési Tervre alapozott második hágai kört és a bizottságnak úgy az elnöke, Németh Zsolt (FIDESZ), mint az alelnöke, Gedai József (MSZP), támogatta a második hágai kör kezdeményezését.

A fenti okokból, tisztelettel kérem a Miniszterelnök urat, hogy utasitsa a magyar kormány illetékes miniszterét, Persányi urat, a második hágai körnek a Kiegyezési Terv alapján való azonnali kezdeményezésére.

A világ sok városában állitottak már emlékszobrot a "Pesti Srácnak" aki szembe mert nézni a szovjet tankokkal és az elsõ, de halálos döfést adta a kommunizmusnak. Szégyen, hogy 48 évvel a Forradalom után Budapest még nem állitott emlékmûvet. Tanácsot kérünk az HL tagjaitól, hogy miként is kellene akciót kezdeményeznünk a sajnálatos helyzet magváltoztatására?

Magyarország német megszállásának évfordulója jó alkalmat ad arra, hogy irásaink eljussanak a világsajtóba és ezekkel egyrészt a szintiszta igazságnak megfelelõ összefoglalóját adjuk e napok eseményeinek, másrészt a tények jobb megismertetésével szolgáljuk a magyar-magyar megbékélést is. Kérjük az HL tagjait, hogy tudományos szinvonalú és hiteles irásaikkal segitsenek ebben.
