TÖRÖKSÍP - OBOE-LIKE SHAWM

TÖRÖKSÍP

Eredetileg ezt a hangszert nevezték nálunk “tárogató vagy hadisíp” -nak, amelyet katonai hangszerként pl. a kuruc táborokban is használtak. A nagydobbal együtt a XVII-XVIII. századi Erdélyben kedvelt tánckísérő hangszer volt. Ma főleg a Balkánon, a törököknél s araboknál hallható még ez a kettős nyelvű, oboaszerű hangszer. A mi töröksípunk múzeumi példány alapján készült rekonstrukció.

OBOE-LIKE SHAWM

Originally this instrument was called in Hungary the “tárogató” or “military pipe”, a link with the fact that it was used in the Kurucs camps. Together with the bass drum, it was popular as an accompaniment to dances in Transylvania during the 17th and 18th centuries. This oboe-like, double-tounged instrument today is mainly used in the Balkans by the Turks and Arabs. The shawm used by us was made after a museum piece.
