In the interview of Magyar Nemzet two experts analyze the possibilities of using community sources after the EU-accession. Imre Boros was responsible for the field in the previous government while Etele Baráth is state secretary at present. Imre Boros, the former minister sees problems in the development of institution while his successor refutes this and he is confident that sources can be used well.
Imre Boros MP (Fidesz), minister of the Orbán cabinet responsible for EU-subsidies says to Magyar Nemzet there are serious problems in the development of institutions in Hungary receiving money from European Union sources.
Mr Boros refers to a letter which contains criticism of the European Union which supports projects and programmes by carefully prepared channels and methods which are not working at present. Etele Baráth, political state secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for the National Development Plan and for EU-subsidies said: the document mentioned by Mr Boros is just a survey on the acceding countries and Hungary is mentioned there in a positive context.
Mr Baráth is optimist as in every ministry there are EU-departments while Imre Boros says the multiplication of different EU-organizations is connected with the recognition that after the closing of the privatization the next great hunting field is the draining of European Union subsidies.
Etele Baráth said Imre Boros did a good work in using PHARE supports and the same could be done in the field of the structural subsidies of the European Union. Both Imre Boros and Etele Baráth support EU-accession, according to Imre Boros with the membership the leftist governments cannot destroy Hungarian currency and cannot tax the poorest layers of society.
