The events of October 24, 1849

Haynau promulgates temporary administrative regulations, including
jurisdictional changes. Croatia (including the Muraköz) and Transylvania are
separated from Hungary, and they become independent entitites. The country is divided into 15 districts, the Counties
are dissolved. All administration become under the authority of commissioner Baron Karl Geringer,
who in turn reports to the Austrian cabinet.
Per military tribunal sentence Zsigmond Perényi (president of the Upper House when the declaration of
independence promulgated) and Imre Szacsvay (at that time secretary of the diet)
are executed. Honvéd general Lajos Kazinczy executed at Arad (Hungary, Arad is in Rumania today).
